A study tour to Sweden  2007

Mayors from Kenya and Uganda and the director of the Tree Theatre Group of Malaysia came to Sweden for a 14 days long field trip in May. They visited six municipalities; Värmdö, Haninge, Vimmerby, Strängnäs, Kalix, Skellefteå and two City Districts of Stockholm; Katarina-Sofia and Tensta. The 10 persons wamted to know how children, youth, teachers, project leaders and politicians prepared and followed up on the World Championship in cooperation in Stockholm 2006.

A seminar was organized at SKL – the Swedish Association for Municipalities and Counties. A visit to the Swedish Children’s Ombudsman, The Swedish Parliament, The City Hall of Stockholm and the Stockholm Culture Administration. The study travel initiated several partnerships between cities and municipalities in Sweden and Kenya/Uganda.
