Future Meeting
Hötorget Stockholm Sweden 1986

On Hötorget in Stockholm stands a living Future Tree: a box that was planted together with 600 children.
Minister for Development Aid Lena Hjelm-Wallén poured soil over the roots while the dancer I Made Sija from Bali held the tribe.
The 600 lived in a tent camp on Gärdet. Globträdet invited children from 12 countries around the world to a Future Meeting at the Concert Hall with the question: – What is vital for the future? The children responded with dance, music, songs, poetry and pictures: To dare, Not to give up, Friends, Love, Non-toxic food, The tropical forest, The mountain forest, Clean air, Peace and Water are vital. Most important is water. Without water there is no life. The performance ended with children handing over tree art to politicians and other decision-makers.
